Wayne Hill

Chief Operating Officer

Wayne has over 26 years’ experience, both nationally and internationally, in Hospitality. He began his career as a Management Trainee at The Carlton Hotel in 1989 and after completing his Hotel Management Certification, moved onto various junior Food and Beverage management roles within the hotel.

In 1995 he moved to Park Hyatt Rosebank to open and manage their Banqueting Department. Soon after that he was appointed as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, and thereafter, Director of Rooms.

After two years consulting in Food and Beverage, Wayne joined the Starwood Group at Sheraton Pretoria as Deputy General Manager. Here he gained considerable experience, travelling to Europe and the Middle East to hone his skills as an Operations and Change Management Specialist until 2005, when he returned to consulting until 2007.

He then joined Emperors Palace, as Deputy General Manager for Non-Gaming, having been attracted by the fast pace, and the passion, commitment, and loyalty of its people. He was later promoted to General Manager of Hotels and Resort Operations.

Wayne has various business management qualifications and is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA). His passion is inspiring, developing and motivating people through career journeys built on principle-centered leadership
